  • KAREN BANKS

    Karen is a founding member of Front Line Foundations. As a career military spouse, the mother of two, and grandmother, Karen is no stranger to putting others before herself. In addition to keeping the home-front running smoothly, Karen has spent a lifetime wrangling founding member, Steve, while pursuing higher education. Her contribution to FLF has been immense.

  • STEVEN BANKS

    Steve is a founding member of Front Line Foundations. He served 30 years on active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired in 2014 as a Captain (O-6). He participated in and led domestic and overseas maritime security operations during that time, including a combat tour in Iraq. He was a cutterman and tactical law enforcement operator, and has significant experience as a foreign military advisor. He has a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work, an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and is an MIT Seminar XXI Fellow.
