FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How do I know if Front Line Foundations is right for me?

If you are an active or retired fire fighter, police officer, EMT, or a member of the armed forces and you are feeling the impact of acute and/or chronic stress related to your job, then you would benefit from coming to Front Line Foundations (FLF). Some of the most common reasons that front line workers seek treatment at our program include changes in mood, constant vigilance, difficulty with personal relationships, disciplinary actions at work, suicidal thoughts, or using alcohol and drugs to help manage stress. Call our main number (802)732-2518 or email us at flf@frontlinefoundations.org to get more information about the program, or about individual therapy. You do not need to make a commitment. We are happy to answer all of your inquiries over the phone.

Can I commute from home to FLF?

Many of our clients who live in the area do commute from home. Our clients who come from farther away may stay in a variety of local hotels and Bed & Breakfasts. We will provide you with recommendations for local lodging options.

Does the FLF program certify me fit-for-duty when I return to my department?

Because every department’s fit-for-duty criteria is different, FLF is unable to do fit-for-duty certifications. However, with your express permission, we will work with your department to provide any information and answer any questions that you think would be helpful in the process.

Does FLF bill health insurance?

We accept most major insurance carriers.  We work mainly with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, BCBS of New Hampshire (Anthem), BCBS of Massachusetts (Network Blue New England), HPI (Health Plans, Inc.), and MVP health insurance. Lack of insurance or lack of coverage for services does not exclude anyone from receiving treatment at FLF, and we will work with all clients and their health insurance companies to provide them with what they need.

How do I become a client at FLF?

Whether you are interested in attending our five day mindfulness education program, or are inquiring about individual therapy, you can call our main phone number (802)732-2518 or email us at flf@frontlinefoundations.org. We will be happy to provide you with more information about the five day program to help you decide whether it is a good fit for you at this time. We can also provide you with more information about scheduling individual therapy sessions with one of our Individual therapy clinicians.

Where is Front Line Foundations located?

We are located inside the Rockingham Health Center at 1 Hospital Court, Bellows Falls, VT 05101. Park in the front parking lot at the main entrance of the Health Center. Come in through the automatic sliding doors, walk through the waiting room, and make a left past the "registration" windows (those are reception for the North Star Health services in our building). At the end of the hallway, bear left and you will see our sign right above our glass door.

How long is the program - how long should I plan to stay?

We are a five-day program of mindfulness education that is skills-based and peer supported. The treatment schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm.

Does FLF provide medication management or prescribe new medications?

FLF does not provide medication management at this time. In an emergency, there are medication prescribers co-located at Rockingham Health Center, but they are not associated with FLF.

Does FLF provide meals and lodging as part of the cost of attending the program?

FLF does not provide meals and lodging on the premises, but we do provide you with recommendations for local lodging and restaurants. FLF has coffee, snacks and spring water available in our kitchen spaces as well as a refrigerator, if you would like to store your lunch for the day.

Will FLF transport me to recreation therapy?

The purchase of a transport vehicle is one of our fundraising goals. At this time, we ask that clients either carpool or drive their own vehicles to the local recreation therapy locations.
