Reconceptualizing Discipline

Discipline can be a double-edged sword. It can help us to make things happen in our personal lives and at work, but we can misuse it by beating ourselves up for failing to reach the impossibly high standards that we set for ourselves. This can erode our self-compassion and hold us back. The kind of discipline we need is to be right here in the present moment.
